Test Tube Centerpieces

Posted in Uncategorized

I know this title may have scared you!  I love the clean lines look of the florals in test tubes.  It can add a unique approach and element at your next event. Think about using them in areas where you would like to implement minimal decor such as on hi-boys and bar areas of your cocktail hour.  Take it a step further and place an arrangement in your guest bathrooms.  It will show that you thought about every area of the venue and you made sure everything was cohesive.

ellyB Couples + Weddings: Congrats to Beth and Geoffrey

Posted in Uncategorized

There is just something about seeing a couple in love. Everything in their being is put out on display in front of their family and loved ones.  They invite others to share in the beginning of their lifetime together.  As a planner we are touched. It’s like watching the beginning of a new life together. We weep at the words of promises to grow old. We are honored to have been

Honeymoon Survival Kit

Posted in Uncategorized

Yesterday one of the Wedding Bees blogged items that should be taken on your next vacation. I think everyone should make sure they have these essentials packed in their honeymoon bags.

I remember it cost me about $60 US dollars in cab fare just to go to Walmart in Mexico and that did not include my purchases! Avoid having to make the emergency run and keep the essentials with you. After all, after such a successfully planned wedding day, it just doesn’t stop there!

Your kit should include include sunscreen, shout wipes, lens wipes, Tylenol, Tums, and a little packet for first aid.

ellyB Couples: Takila’s Spa day with the girls

Posted in Uncategorized

One of the many things I just love about Takila, is her understanding that she needs a photographer to capture all the events surrounding her big day. I still get so excited to see the images from Livingston from Jaxon Photo. I relieve all of the hard work Takila and her Mom April put into Takila’s big day.

The day before the wedding, Takila treated her girls to a day at the spa. Complete with a pink Hummer Limo, the girls were dressed in their matching tee’s ready to get their pamper on. They sipped bubbly as they headed to Polished (who by the way has the cutest website ever!) Beauty Lounge in Smyrna, Georgia.

Takila and her mom April look like TWINS. They were really a pleasure to work with.

ellyB Events: Eclipse Screening and Atlanta Occasions Anniversary Party Review

Posted in Uncategorized

We had such a blast working with Heather Vreeland from Atlanta Occasions Magazine on this amazing event! Heather is so passionate for anything Twilight related, so it was so fun working with her to get things just right for not only this Eclipse premiere event, but a party to celebrate the one year anniversary of Atlanta Occasions Magazine.

For the decor we decided to go with all things red and black to emulate the cover of the Eclipse book. From the candy bar, canolis filled red filling, to the color coordinated popcorn bar!  All of the labels were either hand drawn with calligraphy or branded signs with the Eclipse font to tie everything in together.

Custom Details: Wedding Dress Hangers

Posted in Uncategorized

We have all seen pictures from weddings where all you see in the dress picture is that plastic hanger that you get from the dry cleaners. Sometimes the dress stores even leave the paper body form in your dress.  There is nothing wrong with having any of the above in your dress but when you professional photographer arrives please swap it out and get yourself a picture worth hanger.

One of the latest trends in weddings is the use of personalized dress hangers. The possibilities are endless and can include a monogram hanger, some form of I Do verbiage, and some couples are taking it a step further and customizing the colors with their overall wedding color scheme.

If you decide to go down the custom route, please make sure the hanger can hold your dress before the big day.  If the custom route is not for you, feel free to get a rich wooden hanger to dress up your wedding day attire.

Esty Finds: Mr. and Mrs. Forks

Posted in Uncategorized

Personalization and unique ideas are key if you want a one of a kind event.  We are just loving these forks or spoons from Etsy seller Beach House Living.  One of the main reasons why we think they are adorable is because chances are your guest will have never seen them before. They are not branded with Husband and Wife so you could use them again if your heart desired. They can become heirlooms that you pass down from generation to generation for use on the couple’s cake table, or sweetheart table.
