If you are not familiar with Nancy Liu Chin I suggest you pull up a seat and read her blog from beginning to end. Her designs are unique and fresh and she also overs up great advice and tips. I just had to share these floating wreaths with fish bowls in the middle. Perfect for scenery to add to a pool or fountain if you have one in your ceremony or reception space.
Take a look at Nancy’s blog for tips on how to achieve this look HERE.
It is so much fun to see how the celebrities do it. Most of us all grew up watching Tamera Mowry and her sister on the hit television show Sister to Sister, so it was great to see her fairytale wedding hit the net.
The amazing and wonderful Mindy Weiss was the party planner for this event and of course it was only filled with romance and style. I just love the blush palette that kept everything flirty and fun. The fabulous Jose Villa was on deck to capture the tender moments.
I had to add this photo because Tia’s husband hand on her belly is just priceless!
Congrats to Tamera and Adam. Wishing you a lifetime full of happiness.
We have so much to share and will have tons of updates to share as well. In the meantime we wanted to send a huge congrats to our couple from this past weekend – Ayanna and Jamal.
The couple was lucky enough to be one of the very first weddings at the newly renovated Venetian Room (formerly City Grill). I had the pleasure of working with dynamic due Aragon Photography and a slew of other awesome vendors.
Thank you to Ayanna and Jamal for trusting me with their overall wedding and design.
Stay tuned for pictures from this wedding since we did some fabulous unique designs.
Just loving this biscuit dipping station that was featured on Southern Wedding recently. How cute would this for a bridal shower or brunch wedding? All you have to do is gather a bunch of different types of biscuits and infuse different honey and homemade jams to introduce to your guests. You can even take it a step further and ask your guests to bring a spread of their choosing to introduce to the crowd.
We hope that you had the most amazing Mother’s Day and if you are not a Mom, we hope you did something wonderful with all of the moms around you.
We wanted to share some exciting news. Our ellyB and Friends Client Appreciation Event was featured in the newest issue of Occasions Magazine which hit stands on May 1! It is an amazing issue so if you do not have a copy please make sure to grab it ASAP!
As guests entered the gallery they were greeted with fabulous paper decor by Lucky and Lovely with decals from ten23 designs that were used throughout the space.
The stationery set the tone for the event and contained the ellyB brand story.
The event is not complete without matching signature drinks!
If you know me you know I love a little bit of bling!
So I am a little backward in this post and decided to start with my desserts first. Hey I would eat my dessert first if I was given the option. So we decided to take a room in the gallery and turn it into our very own sweetshop. There was two full walls full of desserts that the guests were able to nibble on at their leisure.
Now on to the cocktail hour which I affectionately dubbed the pink room!
Proof of the Pudding and Endive did an amazing job with the food and presentation as they greeted our guests.
Now on to the blue room which was the main reception area. Not only did the DJ get the crowd going with the sounds, but Belly Dancers came out to show everyone a few moves.
Other entertainment including the very fun Halo Booth as well as this cigar lounge hosted by Lashes and Mustashes. Let’s just say we had to go for the grooms a few times.
We cannot thank our AMAZING couples enough for coming out to celebrate with us. Our vendors did an amazing job with this event, and for that we are forever eternally grateful!
So over the holidays, I stressed to my business partner, a.k.a my husband, about how important my clients are to me. Seriously each and everyone one of them are more like friends then actual clients. I love to sit down and laugh with them, hear all of their stories and share new ideas for restaurants and actually go out and try them!
How could I repay them for trusting me on the biggest day of their lives? How can I show them that they were just not another weekend to me? How can I show my existing clients that it is all about their planning experience and I want them to walk away with new great memories. Best of all how do I show potential clients I know how to throw a mean _ _ _ party and I would be the perfect planner for them?
Then my hubby figured it out. We will do just that. We will gather all of them in one room and force them to wine and dine with us. Better yet, we will do it Valentine’s Day weekend because we LOVE them, oh and we saved them from having to take their sweeties out for dinner.
I then reached out to some of my favorite vendors with this crazy idea and they all loved it! It was great because we shared so many mutual clients anyway. Just like that, the inaugural ellyB and Friends Client Appreciation Dinner was born.
So of course when I decided to do this I had no idea it was like planning my own wedding all over again. Yes I do this for a living but I was so nervous. I wanted to make sure everyone had a good time, met new friends, and of course DANCED. I am glad to say, everyone did and they still talk about it till this day with everyone they know.
Ok enough about all of that. Let me give you a sneak peek of what went down. This is just a teaser as we will have quite a few blog posts coming up in a few. Three Ring Media did this fabulous recap trailer. It is only a minute long but you can get the complete essence of the party!
Carved cameos have been around since the Renaissance period and evoke a strong sense of femininity and poise. Traditionally, cameos have been seen on women’s jewelry and are passed down as family heirlooms to each generation. Cameos are a small accent that can be added into your reception decor as a demur statement of your style. Today’s cameos don’t have to be light pink and ivory either. Couples are creating cameos of themselves or mixing up the colors of the cameos. The new twist on the traditional cameo is definitely a fun way to add some vintage flair to your reception.
