Wedding Salon Bootcamp Pronovias Wedding Event

Posted in Bridal Shows

We were so sad when we could not attend the Wedding Salon Bootcamp PRONOVIAS event.  PRONOVIAS is one of the leader power houses in the bridal gown industry market.  So we definitely cheered up when they sent over the images.  We just had to share with you our favorite gowns from this collection!

True cost of being a Bridesmaid

Posted in Tips and Tricks

Normally the first thing couples do after deciding to get married, is then decide who will be in the wedding party.  Although couples are now keeping the number in the party to a small intimate number to include only childhood friends and family, some just can’t get that number down, and that is ok!  What I always encourage people to keep in mind is the amount of financial strain and obligations that come with being a bridesmaids. This also goes to the person that is being asked.  Instead of saying yes and then huffing and puffing with every financial request that hits your inbox, feel free to say NO. This doesn’t mean that you do not have to be apart of the wedding. You can easily be a hostess or even a lady in waiting and doting on the every need of the precious bride.

Recent reports from Mint.com states that the cost of being a Bridesmaid is roughly $1,695, OUCH!  This may be a very HEFTY price tag to anyone recouping from our recent recession. Be conscious of this when making purchase decisions for your gals.  For example, if you plan to have your girls where a silver sandal that you found that would just be perfect with their dresses, give them the option of wearing a silver sandal they may already own. Also timing is everything, planning for their purchases is equally as important as planning all the other aspects of your big day. If you have over a year or a couple of months before the holidays to plan, why not hit up the after the holiday sales to get some of those items they may need?

Check out the breakdown on this nifty chart below…

Take Me Home Favors

How fabulous would these favors be at the end of the night? Filled with your night-time snack that you want to share with your guests. This can be anything from cookies, pies, cake or even desserts you would have placed with your dessert bar.  Make it complete with a hot cup of cocoa or apple cider for guests to enjoy on their way home.Wedding favor ideas

Atlanta Engagement Session – Minashia and Nick by Milanes Photography

Posted in ellyB Couples Engagement Pictures

My wonderful couple Minashia and Nick were married this past September.  I did not want to show you their wedding pics just yet without featuring their amazing engagement session that happened around Atlanta. Cathi from Milanes Photography did an amazing job of not only capturing how fabulous they both are, but also how fun and down to earth they are.

The session took place around the downtown and midtown area complete with three outfit changes.  Their first stop was the High Museum and they they ended up around Centennial Park.

Lampshade Event Decor

Posted in Wedding Day Details

For us lampshade decor your event must be done right! The lampshades cannot just be placed on the tables and expect to get that wow factor! Check out the designs below how the florals are incorporated around the base or in the lamp bottoms themselves. This gives you a fresh and modern approach to a traditional design.

Remember that your lighting is key, you will still need a great amount of candles at the base or uplighting on the lamps to give it that perfect glow.

Food trucks at your wedding

Posted in Interactive Stations

For the past few years we have seen the emergence of mini foods. Whether this is a late night station complete with mini burgers or fries, to having waiters pass your favorite munchies from your favorite fast food chain on the dance floor.  These are all still very great options but no reason to stop there. You can now have your favorite food truck parked right outside with your favorite items.

This can be from your favorite food truck that you and your fiancé love to dine on to some of those fabulous desserts you were planning to serve anyway. This is also a really great way to include foods to the menu that your guests normally wouldn’t try.  Do remember that if your truck is showing up the last two hours of your reception, do not get enough food for 100% of your guests as most of the elderly may be gone at this time.

Here are some of the most popular Atlanta Food Trucks and their social media sites. If you have any that you absolutely love let me know and I will update it for our readers.

The Good Food Truck
Eat: Savory and sweet deliciousness. Think waffle cones filled with everything but ice cream, and crowd favorite "The Poodle," a hot dog on a French toast bun topped with apple maple slaw.
Find: On Facebook (Good Food Truck) and Twitter (@goodfoodtruck).

Eat: Korean BBQ tacos, quesadillas, burritos, hot dogs and sliders from one of the older kids on the block that people just can’t get enough of.
Find: Check the weekly schedule on its website and follow on Facebook (Yumbii) and Twitter (@yumbii).

Yum Yum Cupcake
Eat: Mouthwatering cupcakes with pretty names from a hot pink truck. We like the "Penelope" (chocolate cake with peanut butter buttercream icing and peanut butter drizzle) and the "Dorothy" (vanilla cake filled with dulce de leche and iced with dulce de leche buttercream). Flavors rotate.
Find: Check the schedule on Yum Yum’s website and follow "Pinkie" the truck on Facebook (Yum Yum Cupcake) and Twitter (@yumyumcupcake).

The Pickle
Eat: Tex-mex, Southern and Creole specialties like chicken green chile quesadillas, fish tacos and etouffée.
Find: Check the website for upcoming appearances and follow on Twitter (@thepickleatl).

Westside Creamery
Eat: Artisanal, hand-crafted ice cream and sorbet in flavors like bourbon butter pecan, salted caramel and mesquite chocolate. And we heard something about Coke floats and ice cream sandwiches, too.
Find: Check the website calendar to see where the truck will be and follow on Facebook (Westside Creamery) and Twitter (@wsidecreamery).
