Atlanta Venue: The Georgian Club

Posted in Venues

Happy Monday all! Today I wanted to share with you a spectacular venue, The Georgian Club, perfect for your wedding, rehearsal dinner, or even bridal shower. The Georgian Club is located just inside the perimeter in Cobb Galleria in the Cumberland/Vinings district, on the 17th floor of the Tower 100 building. It’s the perfect venue location for those who are looking for amazing views of the Atlanta skyline without having to actually go into the city. Not only do they have floor-to-ceiling windows throughout the space, but if you’re wanting an outdoor ceremony, the Galleria Gardens below have a beautiful cascading waterfall and bell tower. Also, their menu has more than enough options to satisfy all of your guests. If you would describe your wedding style as classic and sophisticated, then this venue is perfect for you!

Atlanta Engagement Session: Cori and Alex by Todd Baugh Photo

Posted in ellyB Couples Engagement Pictures

We were so grateful to witness the marriage of Cori and Alex this past weekend in Savannah at the Mansion on Forsyth Park.  It was a very intimate wedding and they were surrounded by their loved ones.  Everyone enjoyed themselves as they spent the day basking in the love these two have to share with each other.

I wanted to share their engagement session before bringing you pics from their big day.  The couple took to the streets and shared some desserts while playing rock, paper and scissors. Too fun!

It was great working with Todd Baugh for the first time as well!

Atlanta Engagement Session: Lindsey and Will

Posted in ellyB Couples Engagement Pictures

Happy Thursday Peeps!  How is your day going so far? Today we have the pleasure of bringing to you Lindsey and Will! I had to tell Lindsey she had me at hello from her inquiry email!  Not only is she balls of fun and just blushes every time she mentions Will’s name, but it was so great to hear all about her mission trips and all of the plans she has for her future, it was very inspiring.

The second reason she had me at hello is because they are getting married in an airplane hangar, SQUEAL!!!

Check out these awesome images from their fab engagement photographer – T Case Pictures.

Hawaii Engagement Session: Jasmine and Trevor

Posted in ellyB Couples Engagement Pictures, ellyB Published

Yup you heard that right! Jasmine and Trevor flew to Hawaii for their engagement pictures and a bit of R&R. See both Trevor and Jasmine are US Army Captains stationed in Afghanistan. Everyday I receive an email from Jasmine letting me know what is going on over there and how she is doing, and am always so proud of how she gushes about her soldiers and all of the ideas and awards that are presented to them to make their time over there a little bit more manageable.

They will be married here in Atlanta next June, and I cannot wait to officially meet them. Although I have threatened to go in their suitcase for one of their many travels! Thanks to Jenna at Creatrix Photography for the amazing images and taking such good care of my clients!

To learn all about these two, check out their feature on Essence and The Bride’s Cafe!  Thank you ladies for loving these images as much as I do!

Atlanta Park Tavern Wedding: Jessica and Sam

Posted in ellyB Published, ellyb Real Weddings

We are so excited to finally feature the images from Jessica and Sam’s big day.  Last year we planned a day that was perfect for just the two of them. We kept the decor simple, yet fashionable and all of the details flowed in just the amount of design that we wanted too.  We did the pops of orange and pinks but keeping the base color of champagne neutral in order to not have too much pink when the guests walked into the room! I think we did it!

Jessica and Sam were such a joy to work with! Each meeting we got a chance to know each other and we made sure that their personalities were represented throughout their wedding day. They were a picture perfect couple and I was honored to be their planner for their big day.

You have to check out their feature on Style Me Pretty!

Fun Wooden Utensils

Posted in Fantastic Finds

This spin on the traditional wooden spoons and forks give me life! So many events are now including some form of dessert bars from Ice Cream Stations to various puddings or pies. Consider jazzing up your utensils at your next event.  This could even be a great DIY project making the possibilities absolutely endless!

Toast in Color!

Posted in Fantastic Finds

Gone are the days where we would head out and get our toasting flutes monogrammed with our names and dates. I always suggest to clients to get some pizzazz and dress up your wedding flutes too! Your toasting flutes do not need to be the exact  colors of your wedding, but it can just be your favorite color or even an accent color! The best part is that you will not have to wait until you until your anniversary to pop them out and use them!

These Waterford toasting flutes are a perfect way to add that pop of color!

Atlanta Engagement Session: Soritza and Robert by Milanes Photography

Posted in ellyB Couples Engagement Pictures, ellyB Published

Soritza just has that bubbly spirit! Nothing can get her down and she is so warm and inviting that it has truly been a pleasure working with her and Robert in this very important journey!  Robert is just her teddy bear protector that makes sure she gets what she wants. I look forward to their big day next month, but until then you will have to check out their fab and innovative engagement session.  They decided to do it at Clark Atlanta University where they met. Smart right!

Thanks as always to Milanes Photography for the gorgeous images!

Check out the rest of their story and pictures on Munaluchi’s Blog!  Thanks ladies for the feature.

Brand your Wedding Day!

Posted in Decor Ideas

I am pretty sure when I keep saying brand your wedding day, half of my clients have no idea what I mean!  It is exactly what you see online on all of the fabulous wedding blogs out there.  Branding your wedding can mean several things but it definitely does not mean you have to have a wedding theme! Here is a list of ways you can brand your big day:

  • Monogram on various items throughout the big day starting with the paper goods.  Don’t go overboard with this though. We do not want to see that you are unoriginal and just didn’t know where to place it so it went everywhere.  Small tip – drop the date (if you decided to use one with it) and use that on your stationery, towels and other things after the big day
  • Pattern! Patterns are hot this year. Chevron especially, kind of reminds me of how hot damask was in 2008.  Pick a pattern that is not overused and will not fade in a year or two.  Go fabric stores and see what’s in right now.  Purchasing a bunch of remnants is a good way to take some home and decide. If you are wondering how you are going to get this on your printed items, chances are they might have the pattern on istockphoto.com (search for seamless pattern, vector file)
  • Texture. This is one element that is often overlooked. Remember we are trying to evoke the five senses and touch is one of them! Use a different type of linen. How about a patterned linen with some 3D texture? Possibilities are endless!

I saw these images on the The Party Dress blog and I got so excited to see an event branded to perfection!  Check it out:

Now that you know you are actually branding your event and not playing a match game, tell us some creative ways you plan to brand the big day!?!?
