The NOT Wedding 2010

Posted in Uncategorized

We are so excited to announce that we will be participating in The NOT Wedding 2010 as the event planner. Atlanta Occasions will is now the executive producer of the NOT wedding. The NOT Wedding will take place at the Foundry at Puritan Mill for their third addition. This event will guarantee to be larger and better than the previous ones. Not only will we be in a larger space, but some of the teams lined up, plan to bring inspiration tablescapes like never seen before.

If you are new to the NOT Wedding, here is a little bit of background information:

Recent magazines and websites in the wedding industry have done a fabulous job keeping up with trends and offering inspiring new ideas to brides, but there’s still something to be said about experience. Sometimes you just need to see, smell, touch, hear, taste… and that’s where we saw a void.

As members of the wedding industry ourselves, we definitely had opinions on which vendors were the best of the best, and we were looking for a way to share that with other brides in a totally new way. We dreamed of just planning the perfect wedding featuring our favorite vendors, thus allowing brides to see everything live, in action. So in the end, that’s just what we did- we planned a wedding. A big fake one. And we called it The NotWedding.

Complete with a cocktail hour, ceremony and reception, The NotWedding has become a killer alternative to a bridal show. Our hand-selected vendors perform their services as they would at a real wedding, and our “wedding guests” get to hear the music, taste the cakes, touch the dresses… while enjoying food, drinks, dancing and loads of free stuff.

This year I would like to do things a bit different this time around. Stay tuned as I bring “behind the scene” footage and coverage of what it takes to pull off this event. We will cover inside information to show you what’s in store for the NOT Wedding 2010.

So I have been called many things…

But never have I been called an Event Fairy Godmother. I am seriously contemplating changing the title on my business cards! Atlanta Occasions makes my heart swoon each and every time. Head over to check out our one on one interview where I totally had the chance to get silly but hopefully still offer some good advice.

Atlanta Occasions Smile Booth

Posted in Uncategorized
So sad this is our last post covering the Atlanta Occasions Launch party. I am sure there will be many more rad parties to come soon!

So everyone knows how much I love getting into the smile booth. In fact if you look at all the pics I may be in half of them! LOL. I really let my hair down and had fun. I played with the back drop that Ashley from dolci odille designed. My gosh was it fun.

There are rules to the Smile Booth, well ones that I made up anyway;

- Have Fun!
- Make the wackiest face
- drag as many people in as possible
- click away, every pic will be a good pic
- the smile booth is always more fun with a backdrop, I had dreads in one pic and an eighties bandana in another
- Make a photo ablum/flip book from the nights events

Someone said on facebook this is blackmail for wedding pros. Everyone just had a good ole time. Check out the wacky pics from Our Labor of Love Smile Booth below:

Me and Heidi Elnora. She was too funny to be in the booth with. We strutted like we were on the next edition of Project Runway!

In the picture on the right you can see the Bridal Bar gals getting down with Amy Osaba and some of Atlanta’s top wedding planners!

Amy with Heidi from Our Labor of Love.

Heather Vreeland showing everyone how to have fun in the smile booth.

Didn’t I say we were having fun?

I just love this effect. It makes me laugh each and everytime I see it.

Pics from the Atlanta Occasions Launch Party

It is really always a pleasure working with individuals that have a passion for what they do. Every single vendor involved did an amazing job bringing together a launch party that Heather Vreeland would be proud of. Not only did the best event professionals in Atlanta come out and support, they danced the night away too! Here are some of the amazing images from Ben Vigil who has affectionately been dubbed my personal photographer since he makes me look amazing in pics!

Joel Rabe from Lethal Rhythms on the ones and twos. Can we take a moment to absorb the fab blue uplighting and swirl designs courtesy of Doc from Full Circle Lighting?

Ok let me tell you, EVERYONE got down and did the cupid shuffle.

A very glossy magazine only deserves a very glossy coffee table.

These illuminated tables set the tone! Oh and can we swoon over the sheer fabulousness of the drapes?

Heather Vreeland the diva in charge! Can I just say how much I loved her blue dress?

M Cupcakes did an amazing job with not only the cupcakes but the display.

Heather on the blue carpet!

Getting down having some fun.

Please head over to Ben’s blog to see some more amazing images from the slide show.

Thank you Heather for allowing me to be apart of such an amazing event and premiere issue.
