Tablescape we Adore

Posted in Uncategorized
Sometimes you flip through a magazine and you can find the most inspiring tablescape or decor item. Here is an image that has had the most impact for me this week.

Around the table there are compliments of a plum chandelier, cranberry votives and table runner with matching glassware and decor. The use of texture is brought in with the ribbon tied around the flatware and feather accenting the bread dish. Everything screams cohesive.

Glass Pedestals for your next Candy/Cookie Bar

Posted in Uncategorized
Move over apothecary jars. There is a new jar on the block that would like to be recognized. The Pedestal glass containers are looking to be the next big thing in candy, cookie, or cereal bars. What is great about these kinds of set ups is that it does not need to be filled with edible goodies, you can use some of them to add texture to your event by implementing decor showcased in some of the vessels.

Ribbon Centerpiece Ideas

Posted in Uncategorized
It’s the simple things, no really it is. There are so many things you can use in order to enhance the current items you are working with. For example, you can take a plain vase and make it a custom centerpiece by adding ribbons, buttons or a lace pattern. You can do this throughout your event and use them on almost everything to make your designs cohesive. You may decide to use one ribbon pattern on your main centerpiece vase and a plain ribbon with your accent colors on the votives surrounding. The possibilities are endless!

Don’t forget use varying heights to add to the element of surprise.

I love that the next piece does not actually have the ribbon wrapped around the base of the vase but instead used as decor inside the vase. Definitely a twist from the traditional stems.

Bud Vase Centerpiece Ideas

Posted in Uncategorized
I have always loved the look of a single flower stem in a bud vase. We have seen them used as place card holders as well as accent décor around centerpieces. There is a strong emergence of bud vases used in groups to be the main centerpiece. At first they were used only in restaurant based events, but not anymore!

You can become a collector of bud vases from your local store or antique shop and get them for as little as .25 cents. They can be dispersed upon your guests so each person leaves with a piece of your centerpiece, or used for décor n your future home. The best part is this can be an inexpensive idea for florals if you are on tight floral budget.

Don’t be afraid to mix and match colors, shapes and sizes. Be diverse in your choices. This will provide a stunning appeal to the eye.

Review: Perfect Petals Spring Fantasy Bootcamp

Posted in Uncategorized

Earlier last month we had the pleasure of being one of the platinum vendors for the Perfect Petals Spring Fanatasy Bootcamp. Brides and their family had the opportunity to come in and see different floral designs and tablescapes. They also had the chance to mingle and discuss their wedding day vision with the pros. Here are a few pictures I was able to capture.

This table just screams a GREEN event.

I love the idea of the votives being on top of the centerpiece instead of surrounding the base as it is usually done.

Loving the blend of reds, orange and yellows in this fall bouquet. The brown flower is a great change from the traditional fern curl often seen.

Another great fall bouquet option.

All of the paper elements were designed and printed by Debra of Luxe Expressions. Located locally in Atlanta but serving clients nationally, Debra has a knack of combining texture and one of a kind design to all of her pieces.

Just loving all of the different plums and silvers in this sweetheart table display. Here you can see the potential of using the pomander arrangements from your ceremony into your reception as centerpieces

Of course the bling votive holders were a hit!

Thanks for inviting us Christine. I can’t wait until the next event.

How to use Bamboo elements at your next event

Posted in Uncategorized
I always encourage my clients to go the non-traditional route when incorporating design elements into their next event. What is your favorite plant or flower? What color reminds you of your first date? What about the location, was it candle lit or full of color? Just by answering some basic questions, you will start in the right direction determining the look and feel of your event.

For example my mother loves bamboo and actually has several of them around the house. For her it signals good luck and prosperity. Not only do they make great favors but can be incorporated several ways into your décor. Bamboo offers many of the senses to be involved, from the familiar look to the texture. And I know what you are thinking; no you do not need to be Asian in order to incorporate bamboo, just a lover of all things beautiful!

I love how the real bamboo barks are incorporated into these centerpieces.

h2o can be sexy!

Posted in Uncategorized

A few months back Bling h2o water was all the rave. Being a lover of all things bling I could see why. These bottles are sexy, flirty and fun. Of course anything that can add to your design element and can be used for other things is a winner.

Then I realized retailers were catching on, why not create great packaging for water that can be highlighted in photos. Of course water bottles with personalized labels are still very appealing, brides may want to look into some of these options as well:

This one is my absolute favorite. I can just see them on the table during an outside tenting wedding in mixture of colors representing the couple’s color scheme!

Pinwheels as Decor

Posted in Uncategorized

Over the past few months we have seen various ways you can use pomanders or the Martha Stewart Poms Poms in your even decor. Another item you can add to the list of decor is pinwheels. Even though they can be considered “old school”, there is a way to use them and add that modern flare. Below we have compiled pictures from various events on the web that were able to use them successfully.

I just love how the yellow pinwheels were used as seating placecards. Click the source for additional information.

Flowers at each place setting

Posted in Uncategorized

Another way to play close attention to detail is by incorporating ideas like a flower at each place setting. When meeting with your potential florist, inquire what the cost would be to have this done. Chances are there may be some left over florals that did not make the bouquet or centerpiece cut that can be used.

This is a great idea if you are having a buffet and the plates will already be placed at the stations.
