Last week the Pantone Color Institute announced the color for the year 2014 is Radiant Orchid! Clearly they have not seen the many fabulous wedding blog posts and publications for the past two years.
All shades and variations of purple that you can imagine have made their way into the hearts of many brides and grooms. Purple in all its essence of royalty, is exuberant, glamorous, mystifying, and elegant.
As often as many of our clients have added this gorgeous color to their color palette I am still in love with it. It can be combined with so many colors. Bright colors like yellow and orange. Deep shades like navy blue, fuchsia and of course the ever so faithful metallic colors, silver, gold and copper. No matter what season or time of day the warmth of this vibrant color can fill any event with absolute love.
Here are some purple inspiring wedding pictures:

Shari was the epitome of fun with a we will get stuff done attitude. She knew what she wanted when she saw it and didn’t hestitate to make sure that the planning of her big day included NO stress at all. That in turn made us have an absolute blast when planning! Check out her and Willie’s engagement session around the Rennaisance Hotel Midtown here in Atlanta. Thank you to Christi Sue Photography for sharing these images!
Here in Atlanta there are very few venues that can give you impressive views and a modern experience. Luckily Ventanas is one of them! Tiffaney and Jay decided to host their wedding day with their family and friends and giving them the complete experience of all that Atlanta has to offer. Not only does it have a rooftop patio complete with fire pit, but it is nestled downtown Atlanta right next to al of the city’s main attractions!
Check out their beautiful and classic, white, black and red color scheme below!
So the first thing I said when I saw these gorgeous images from Sophia Barrett Studios, was damn I need that dress! My girl Sherrie slayed this shoot by being fun and flirty in this adorable maxi dress. Kerrwen no worries you stepped up to the plate as well, you were very dapper!
Sherrie and Kerrwen gave me the honor of helping them plan their wedding that took place at the Iberostar Bavaro in the Dominican Republic! We cannot wait to share those images with you guys!
Kadi and Ricky were married on a gorgeous October day (and yup the weather last October was much prettier than it is today, BRRR). The wedding and reception took place at the Piedmont Room here in Atlanta. The couple decided to incorporate some peacock feathers into their decor yet keeping everything classic and fun.
Check out some of the fun below!
Thank you so much to Carla Gates Photography for the great images!
So yesterday we shared Jamie and Doug’s adorable train station engagement session. Now we are excited to share their big day images! With a gorgeous view of the city, the rooftop venue Ventanas was the perfect setting, little did the couple know two weeks after the wedding they would be moving to Paris where Doug is a professional basketball player!
Check out their fresh lavender and white color palette!
When choosing an engagement session photography location, think outside of the box! The perfect location could be a place you pass every morning on your way to work that you admire. The location should have meaning so that when you look at your photos 10 years from now, you wouldn’t have to wonder why you picked that location!
Jaime and Doug decided to do just that! Step it outside of the box and have fun with it! It also helps that their fabulous photographer has an awesome eye!
It is such a gorgeous day here in Atlanta! It reminds me of this gorgeous tablescape we did this past spring for the Atlantan Brides Magazine! We used a color palette of neutrals of ivory, champagne, peaches with a touch of mint and coral. We had such a fabulous team with us to execute this dreamy tablescape; Perfect Creations, Paper Parfait, Nuage, BBJ Linens, Not a Crumb Bakery and AFR.
We wanted to showcase that even though your event may take place in the afternoon, it does not mean you cannot do glitz and glamour with the use of sequins and ruffles. The key is to keep the luxury feeling without being too overwhelming. Consider your setting, the attendees and what emotion you are trying to convey.
Thank you to Melissa Prosser for the awesome images!
From the moment I sat with Maggie I knew just how special she was. Maggie is the most simple adorable person I have ever met. I made her vow to answer my calls when I have a bad day just she can cheer me up. I was uber excited when she told me she wanted to wear a black wedding gown, ARE YOU KIDDING ME! She also only wanted to celebrate with 30 of her closest friends and family that traveled from as far as Maggie’s hometown in South Africa.
Maggie and Isreal are known for entertaining so they did not want the traditional ceremony with dancefloor toasts and so on. Instead we had life size games spread throughout the space so people could mozy from game to game and enjoy. Of course in true branding fashion, their invites were custom Jenga pieces made by Paper Parfait.
