We just love to see what style celebrities bring to their big day.  Aaron Ross and Sanya Richards had  a beautiful neutral palette wedding with a touch of jewel tones as their accents.  I must find out the designer of Sanya’s dress because it is simply fabulous.  I hear their wedding will be on an upcoming issue of Platinum Weddings. I will be watching!

Such adorable favors.  Its all about the personalization!

My couples have some of the cutest engagement pictures that it is no fair to wait until their wedding day for the big reveal.  The list goes on and on on why I love this couple so much so I will keep it down to a few:

  • Their home reminds me of pottery barn. It is so cute and cozy and a direct reflection of their personality
  • Sabrina is a graphic designer and did a FANTABULOUS job on all her paper goods that she will be using for the wedding
  • All florals that we will be using on the big day will then be transported to a retirement home when the reception ends.  What I love about this is that it is not just any retirement home, but Sabrina picked the home where her Grandmother used to live.  This is by far the most selfless thing I have had one of my couples do. In the loving memory of her Grandmother, the homes resident will have beautiful flowers to lighten their day.

The couple will be married at Barnsley Garden with the amazing color palette of fuchsia and gray. We will be sure to bring you all the amazing pics that are sure to come.

Arc Photography did an amazing job on their engagement pictures. Makes me even more excited for their big day.

Terracotta with Metallic Tones

by Eliana on March 18, 2010

I am often asked where I draw my inspiration from and most people would be shocked that it is not from weddings.  I strive to do things that have not been done before or come up with unique color palettes. You would be surprised at how the little things can give you the foundation you may need to plan your event on.  When I saw these lipglosses from Guerlain, I knew it was a great way to pair terracotta with metallic jewel tones.

All of the shades above can be used on your big day.  Starting from light to dark, your bridesmaids dresses can be the middle shade, your linens the lighter shade with the dark shade being your florals. Really the possibilities are endless!

What are some ways you draw inspiration?

One of each please! Anthropologie Style

by Eliana on March 14, 2010

I am just loving the accessory selection from Anthropologie.  Like most of their items, you are destined to enter their store finding chic and unique items. These necklaces are no exception.  Perfect for dressing up or down, you are sure to find something that can speak to your style.

When thinking about purchasing jewelry for your bridal party, get them something they can wear again. Yes it is all about your big day but nothing is a greater gesture then showing your love ones that you thought about them beyond the day. Also do not forget about your style for you rehearsal dinner. All eyes will be on you!

Check out these beauties.

Well Wishes Alternative – Vintage Luggage

by Eliana on March 12, 2010

While browsing my lovely Etsy I came across this image of a vintage luggage.  The seller took a vintage luggage and lined it with magazine clippings from that era.

How amazing would it be if you did the same thing! Get any kind of hard cased luggage and line the lining with any of the following:

  • Love letters between you and your fiancé
  • Pictures from your dates or travels
  • Scrapbook items that you have gathered throughout your planning process
  • Little words that remind you of each other

The list goes on and on! Whatever you decide make it about you and your sweetie.  Have it displayed on your sign in table and have your guests drop in little notes of well wishes to the couple.  The key here is to not read it right away and possibly lock it up and do not read it until you first anniversary. The best part is that the luggage is now a time capsule for all the great things ahead.

If you are not feeling that crafty I am sure seller Peace Traveler would love to help.

Candle Sleeves by Kaarskoker

by Eliana on March 10, 2010

When having an event you always want to make sure you are implementing an element that most of your guests have never seen before. This is what makes an event memorable. When your guests are oooh’ing and aw’ing, it is usually because you took it  a step further by adding something that was personal, unique and/or one of a kind.

We just love these candle sleeves that are made my Kaarskoker. They come in many different designs such as polka dot, peacock, army or just blog colors. Think about jazzing up your candelabras and making them different then what they may have seen at another wedding. By incorporating your color theme or pattern.

I also always encourage my clients to take all of their hard work that they have done on planning their big day and incorporate some of those brilliant thoughts into their new home together. These candle sleeves are a perfect example of how they can be done tastefully.

We are so giddy to receive the engagement pictures of Carol and Kesha from the talented photographer Amy Aragon. We are so excited for their spring commitment ceremony here in Atlanta at the Greystone.

I affectionately name all of my brides. I always pick a name that  sticks with me throughout the planning process and will remind me the things they cherish most. It is a name that we share that shows exactly who they are as individuals and how they will be on their wedding day. Carol and Kesha are my Serenity Brides. When I entered their home, there was such a calming and peaceful presence that was throughout the air that we will be replicating on their big day.  There will be heavy use of candles and other romantic elements for their guests to experience.

Here is some imagery from their spring engagement shoot

It may be the city living kid in me but I just love when couples use graffiti walls as their backdrop! Way to b unique and chic!
