May Weddings in Atlanta

All across the country wedding seasons vary. Here in Atlanta May is one of the hottest months to get married and I do not mean temperature wise.  Couples decide to get married in May for quite a few reasons, the three day holiday, the temperature can be just right, it’s the month before everyone decides to go on vacation, and the list goes on and on!

Here are some tips to make sure that your May Wedding goes off without a hitch:

• Plan early. Yes it is fine to pull off a wedding in six months but the dates here in Atlanta for May Weddings book up over a year in advance.  You will have slim pickings when it comes to your venue selection.
• Photographers and other in-demand vendors. They go just as fast as the venue!  Couples are looking for photogs before securing their dates because everyone now knows photography is just as important!
• Decide if you will have any other activities besides the wedding that weekend.  It will be good to scout locations and get an idea of what may be available around town and not conflicting with a parade or conference.
• Travel! If you have tons of guests coming from out of town (Atlanta is really a hot destination wedding market), don’t be afraid to call the airlines and see if they can give you a group discount or advise as to what weekend will cost your guests the most.

I personally just love the month of May but I am sure that also has a lot to do with the fact that it’s my birthday month!
