From the press release:
ATLANTA, May 27, 2009 – Get Married, the only multi-channeled wedding planning resource with platforms online and on television every weekday, announces today a third platform – a new, glossy national wedding magazine – making it the most comprehensive and integrated wedding resource. Get Married magazine is scheduled to publish its first issue October 2009. Tagged as a “new shopping & trend guide for the savvy bride,” Get Married magazine extends the brand loyalty of Get Married’s Lifetime Television show viewers and GetMarried.com users who crave unique and integrated content. This third platform brings a tactile and fresh experience to a new generation of brides who aspire to discover new inspirations on TV, online and in print.
“Get Married magazine rounds out our truly integrated approach to wedding planning, and will continue to capture the excitement of brides who watch, surf and read their way through designing every moment of their wedding celebration,” said Stacie Francombe, founder and president of Get Married and GetMarried.com. “Get Married magazine will reinterpret the rules and translate the latest wedding trends, while offering a new perspective in an uplifting, edgy voice for creatively-innovative and inspirationally-driven brides.”
Former skirt! magazine editor Stephanie Davis, who has written for GQ, Self, Brides and Gourmet, is the executive editor of Get Married magazine, spearheading the editorial, creative and integration with its show on Lifetime Television and with Get Married.com. She is working closely with Jill Meister, the editor-in-chief of GetMarried.com and former CBS Early Show producer. Editorial deadline is August 16, 2009, and ideas should be submitted to Stephanie.Davis@GetMarried.com.
In addition to offering a platform for the most sought-after wedding experts to share tips and ideas, Get Married magazine offers brides choices and guidance, and the first several issues will be distributed to approximately 300,000 brides. With smarter editorializing, Get Married magazine fills a void in the marketplace, combining planning with shopping, which is often a simultaneous process for brides. According to Magazine Publishers of America’s 2008 Survey, magazine readership is growing. In fact, 85 percent of Americans read magazines, and readership grew during the last five years, with audience growth more than all other media except the internet. Likewise, the average number of issues read by 25-34 year olds has increased 11.5 percent since 2004, an important factor for Get Married’s target demographic.
While brides get a glossy and bound new bridal magazine semi-annually to explore every facet of their wedding planning, advertisers who are looking to maximize dollars and increase reach among a highly-engaged audience of brides can garner exposure across Get Married’s three media platforms – TV, online and print. With 96 pages in the first few issues including a chic assortment of trends and inspirations, limited advertising opportunities are initially available in the 8″ x 10.5″ publication. Advertising deadline is September 1, 2009. For more information about advertising, contact MagSales@GetMarried.com or call 877.848.0331.
Get Married magazine will grow its audience in this tough economy with the first few issues being free for brides, retailers, wedding and industry professionals, and bridal show and event producers through direct mail, signing up for a single copy, or in bulk on GetMarried.com, or at select local retailers and events.
