Many years ago, brides would not think about wearing any other wedding gown but their Mother’s! Slowly that tradition changed into altering their gowns or using pieces of their gowns for creation of a new one. Now all elements of doing any of those things seem to be abolished.
I was completely taken back while viewing Ben Vigil’s latest slideshow from a recent wedding. Here was a modern stylish bride getting married to prince charming, in HER MOTHER’S GOWN! And it looked beautiful. Her pictures are now timeless and classic with an ode to her Mother (who Ben told me did the alterations for the beautiful bride).
The bride wore the gown through the ceremony and her formal portraits, but later changed into a funky reception dress complete with birdcage veil. It was the perfect conclusion

I love the idea of brides wearing their mother’s wedding gowns. I really hope that my daughter who is only a toddler now will wear mine when she gets married.
I wore my moms wedding veil although it was not my first choice I wanted to honor her in some way. People still ask me why did i pick that veil lol.It was good luck for me because we are going on 11 years woot!
