ellyB Events Press Round Up

Although this is November the month of thanks, I am really thankful all year round. Some days my life feels like a fairytale and some days its just as rough as the next person, but no matter what I am thankful for everything I go through. I am thankful to all of my wonderful editors I have been fortunate to meet and continue to grow relationships with.

I wanted to share with you some press we received recently from different media outlets. All amazing in their own way and I am uber proud to see our names on their glossy pages and blog posts.

The ladies at Southern Weddings know how much I adore them. We provided the perfect tips on how to have a southern wedding.  Imagine our surprise as our names are listed amongst some of the top in the industry that I truly look up too like David Beahm and Todd Fiscus. I think I died and went to idol heaven once I saw that.  Everyone please say a prayer and send good vibes to Southern Weddings editor Lara Casey as she prepares for the birth of her baby girl Grace on 11/11//11. We love you Lara!

Over at Southern Weddings…

A few months ago I had the privilege of working along side Lara Casey and Emily Ayer from Bliss Event Group and . The wedding took place over at Park Tavern by Piedmont Park. The bride and groom as well as the details were just to die for!  Melissa Schollaert did an amazing job with the images. It was such a pleasure to watch how the girls connected with their clients and guests. It was also great to spend additional time with my dear friends.

The NOT Wedding 2009 – Who Wants a FREE Wedding??????

The NOT Wedding is back and will have another big NotWedding event on Sunday April 5, 2009 at The W Hotel Buckhead. It will be styled by Joy Thigpen (who styled the wedding on the cover of the current , planned by Ashley Baber, photographed by the amazing Our Labor of Love and will feature invitations from Verde Paperie, accessories from Oh My Deer!, flowers from Amy Osaba and cakes from Chocolate Pink Cafe. They also have tons of other vendors showing up to make it an incredible night.

The website is updated and have tons of new surprises… one of which being that they be giving away an entirely FREE real wedding to one lucky couple. They are currently accepting applications in hopes of finding the perfect couple to give this to (a couple who is okay geting married on short notice at a wedding someone else planned for them :). They will receive a FREE wedding on May 31 of this year that will include everything: venue + catering, photography, wedding dress + other attire, cake, flowers, invites… everything, all donated by our amazing vendors from The NotWedding expo. The wedding will be featured in the summer issue of Weddings Unveiled magazine and will definitely be one of the most amazing weddings this year, styled by Joy Thigpen. They hope to find three finalists in the next few weeks and then ask their bridal community to vote on a winner, who we will then announce at NotWedding expo in April.

This event was ground breaking last year and we cannot wait to attend this year. Now who wants a free wedding?

Southern Weddings Launch Party – The People

Ok to finish off our recap of this spectacular event (if you missed them you can see it here and here), a great event is not a success without great people. People traveled far and wide to share the success of

Terrica of Fabu-Luxe and Katasha of Ksherrieco. These ladies really know how to party. I had the best time in a long time. Thank you ladies.

Lara and the ladies of  giving their thank you speech.

Latrice from Bridal Opulence traveled all the way from TN. I had to get two shots from two different angles so you could see her fierce hair!

What’s so funny Katasha? Just being fab as usual I’m sure.

I was so excited to finally meet the infamous Scarlett Lillan as well as Ginger Dupre. You ladies are ultra fab.

The ladies of iWed, Latrice, yours truly, Terrica, Katasha and honorary member Melanie from Lucky Paperie.

Here I am with Ashley from Ashley Baber Weddings. This lady is a true gem to the industry.

I stopped to strike a pose. Suki from Dreamy Gelato is commenting on how I look just like the logo from my blog. Totally not intentional but would have been great branding if I did think about this before hand.

The lovely new intern Katie from SW mag!

Atlanta ladies were out in full effect. Michelle from Lemiga Events with Melanie and Ashley.

Now on to the after party. A few of us gathered at the Marriot downtown for some midnight drinks and snacks. We had a great time winding down the evening.

This picture was INSIDE the hotel. How cool is this?

Mr. ellyB was amazed.

I just love this picture of the fab twins.

Oh no Terrica did not just give me the side eye!!!!!

Here I feel like a mini photographer. Minus the red eye of course.

Ok my eyes are closing against my will and it is only 1AM.

I cannot thank Southern Weddings enough for having their party in Atlanta! Until the next one…

Southern Weddings Launch Party – The Details

This blow up of the magazine cover was great. We also used it to take pictures to mark this milestone occasion.

Ashley Baber and Floxgloves and Ivy did a wonderful job with the flower arrangements. Set in porcelain vases, they added a great element to the overall theme of the event.

In the picture below you will see these delicious truffles provided by Dreamy Gelato and Studio Wed Atlanta.

Up next the people!

Southern Weddings Launch Party – The Venue

Boy do these ladies know how to throw a party. The party was amazing. People came from all over the US to take part of this joyous occasion. There was good food, great atmosphere and wonderful people all around. I will break this post up into parts to try and give you the true essence of this event.

The Dogwood Restaurant is a wonderful location for such parties or even rehearsal dinners. With its chic decor and grand assortment of food and drinks, your guests will be sure to have a great time.
